The Human Rights Review Panel, (Panel) held its 33rd session from 6 to 8 March, 2017. The Panel issued one (1) second follow-up decision on the implementation of its earlier recommendations by the Head of Mission, (HoM), two (2) first follow-up decisions on the implementation of its recommendations by the HoM and nine (9) decisions on inadmissibility.

In Case No. 2014-11 to 2014-17, in Case No. 2014-32 and in Case No. 2014-34 the Panel held that the HoM had implemented its recommendations in part only and decided to close the examination of those cases.

The Panel held in the following Cases that the complaints were inadmissible: 2014-35; 2015-06; 2015-11; 2015-12; 2015-15; 2016-01; 2016-02; 2016-04; and 2015-05.

There are currently thirty seven (37) complaints pending before the Panel.

The Panel also held a meeting with Ms Alexandra Papadopoulou, the Head of Mission EULEX Kosovo on Tuesday 7 March, 2017 and discussed current issues in the field of Human Rights in Kosovo.

The next session of the Panel is scheduled to take place from 29 May to 31 May 2017.

The Human Rights Review Panel (Panel) for EULEX Kosovo, as an independent accountability mechanism for alleged violations of human rights, reviews complaints from any person claiming to be the victim of human rights violations by EULEX Kosovo in the conduct of its executive mandate. The Panel is not a judicial or disciplinary body. The mechanism will solely look into whether a violation of human rights occurred or not and formulate recommendations for remedial action. Such action does no include monetary compensation. The Panel is independent in the exercise of its functions which it performs with impartiality and integrity.
